Functional man-made systems never harm life, wellbeing, the environment and social cohesion, only dysfunctional ones do.

We have changed the definition of sustainability into non harmful functionality.

Energy Dissipation

In nature everything runs on mass, energy and information. Dissipation refers to the inevitable irreversible thermodynamic processes that occur in living systems and result in a loss of “useful” energy.

The General Law of Functionality demonstrates empirically and theoretically that lying, deceit or withholding information to gain a competitive advantage (a political goal, etc.) entails energy costs through dissipation, rendering that energy unavailable for useful work.

Dr. Melvin Vopson's Mass-Energy-Information Equivalence Principle (2023) further states that information has mass and requires energy to process or erase, which means that deliberately false information or suppression consumes energy that cannot be recovered for productive use.

This is rooted in the principles of information physics, thermodynamics, and cybernetics.

Now you know why our society is barely functioning, if at all; useful energy simply cannot be sufficiently available.

We have Rudolph Clausius to thank for that.
